William Calvin Smith, 89, of Comer, GA, passed away July 24, 2025. He is the son of the late Mitchell & Jessie Smith. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Smith and his brother, Leroy Smith. He was a founding member of Comer Volunteer Fire Department and served for 60 years. He was a member of Comer United Methodist Church. Calvin loved his family deeply, loved his cattle farm and loved his work with Alltel.

The family would like to extend a special appreciation for Della Pass and Katie Meacake and the nursing staff of Brookside Assisted Living in Commerce.

Funeral services will be Saturday July 26, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Comer United Methodist Church with Rev’s Joshua Carr and Randy Strickland officiating. The family will have a visitation at the funeral home, Friday, July 25, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The interment will be in Comer Cemetery.

Survivors include: Son, Danny & Patti Smith of Cordele, GA; daughter, Dave & Renee Moon of Commerce, GA; Grandchildren, Michelle & Jonathan Sinyard of Cordele, GA, Mandy & Matthew Hinkley of Perry, GA; Parker & Madison Moon of Statham, GA; and Kendell Moon of Gainesville, GA. Great Grandchildren, Caitlin, Bailey Grace Sinyard and Savannah and Sophia Hinkley.
