Clay was born near Onion Creek, Buda, Texas to William Solomon and Violet Solomon.
Clay's father passed away in 1943 and his mother, and some extended family relocated to Goforth, Texas to operate Barton's Dairy where they lived to 1950 when they moved to Austin and his mother ran the Soda Fountain Counter at the Rexall Drug Store in downtown Austin. Clay lived with his mother in the Meadowbrook Apartments on Live Oak Street. Clay's mother remarried and they moved to a home on South Second St.
Clay attended Becker Elementary School, Fullmore Jr. High, and William B. Travis High School where he played football, ran track and graduated in 1961.
Clay joined the Texas National Guard in 1961 and attended boot camp at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Clay attended the Texas School of Fine Arts and was a talented artist throughout his life painting many pictures, some of which are displayed here today.
Clay passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4th.
Clay is survived by his sister, Gay Bennett (Mark), nephew Justin W. Price, great nieces Kylie and Lexie Price, great nephew Logan Price, 1st cousin Lena Mae Solomon Parker, 2nd cousin Chris Solomon and many friends.
Clay is preceded in death by his mother, Violet (Morgan) Solomon, father William P. Solomon and step father Richard B. Jackson.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail Austin, TX 78745.
A private family burial will then be held.

When we were kids we all loved to get together at Aunt Vi's house in Austin.
Clay was a lot of fun to be around. We loved him.
