William Spriggins III

William "Boyd" Spriggins III William "Boyd" Spriggins III was born on October 28, 1956, in New Orleans, Louisiana. On Tuesday, August 20, 2025, at the age of 68, William entered into eternal rest, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. William was united in marriage to Lawanda Leggett -Spriggins, of this union came their son, Devin W. Spriggins Sr. (Courtney). William was also a proud father to William Spriggins IV (Tyralyn), Kandice K. Spriggins, Phadria Reed (Mother Barbara R. Spriggins), and Jahmarl J. Spriggins (Jonte'). He was the loving son of the late William "Yom" Spriggins Jr. and Shirley Dolliole Spriggins and the beloved brother of Wanda S. Taylor (late Rev. Felman), Yvonne S. Green (Meridith), Chicquita S. Mayberry (George)and Jennifer S. Thompson (late William). William was strong in his Catholic Faith. He graduated from Joseph S. Clark High School after graduating he joined the International Longshoremen's Association Local 3000 there, he dedicated 37 years to his profession as a Longshoreman (Foreman). William was humble, strong and dedicated to his family his legacy lives on through those he held most dear. He leaves behind his loving wife Lawanda, his children, and his treasured grandchildren: William A. Spriggins V, Tylah M. Spriggins, D'Niah A. Spriggins, Devin W. Spriggins Jr., and Jasyn E. Spriggins. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 5621 Elysian Fields Ave. New Orleans, Louisiana 70122 at 10:30am Visitation will begin at 8:00am until 10:30am.
