William Stalcup Obituary
August 11, 1943 - December 9, 2025
William Guy 'Bill' Stalcup Jr., age 82, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones in his home, after a 3 year journey with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Up until the end, Bill maintained his life rooted in faith, compassion, the love of God, and continuously expressed gratitude for his long life full of service and varied experiences.
He was born in Washington D.C. in 1943 to William Guy Stalcup "Big Daddy" & Caroline (Humphry) Stalcup, in which he was the oldest of 8 children.
Bill served our nation proudly in the United States Air Force, demonstrating dedication and integrity. He continued serving others through his accomplished career as a Director with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), where his work ethic and quiet strength left a lasting impact.
To family, friends, and countless acquaintances, he was affectionately known as "Father Bill." He didn't simply believe in loving others, he loved people the way Jesus loves us. His faith was sincere, humble, and active. He shared hope, prayed with others, encouraged their walk with Christ, and helped lead many towards faith, especially youth, and those struggling with addiction. Throughout every chapter of life, he leaned on the Lord for guidance and strength.
Those who knew him will remember that he embodied God's grace in everything he did. He didn't only offer words; he showed up. He gave his time, supported needs quietly, listened deeply, and contributed wherever he could. His kindness was practical, steady, and heartfelt.
He was a devoted husband to Diane Stalcup, a loving father to their four children, Kim, Kelly, Mary and Billy, a proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren, and a cherished great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren. His legacy of faith, service, and love for others will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
A funeral service will be held at Park Valley Church (4500 Waverly Farm Dr, Haymarket, VA 20169) on Friday, December 19th, 2025 at 11 am with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall.
Interment at Culpeper National cemetery at a later date.
