William Robert Stanley, age 81, December 15, 2025. Vietnam veteran, U.S.A.F., retired C.T.A. Native of Southern California, long time resident of West Beverly and late of Palos Park, IL.
" Bob" and "Papa Bob" to family and countless friends and family friends. Treasured father of Beth (Pat) Johnson adored and beloved grandfather of Patrick and Clare, devoted husband to the late Nancy (nee Fortune), brother of the late Kenneth (Judy) Stanley, loving brother-in-law to Peggy (Bill) Winters. Dear Uncle to Colleen (Steve), Jack and Charlie McNeela, Bill (Heather) Winters, and Jillian (Richard) Radomski and loving son of the late Helen and Chester Stanley.
Bob embodied the term "family man" every day in everything he did, setting an example of selfless love, faith, trust, patience and goodness to us all. He loved spending time with family, driving all around California to visit cousins, watching TV by the fireplace with Beth or on the golf course with Clare and Patrick. Bob was "present" for our family in every way, in a folding chair in a gym, a seat in a chapel or auditorium, in the bleachers in scorching sun or numbing cold or on the riding mower. He was full of compassion and care for everyone and was the best listener. It was simply peaceful to be in his presence. We were not ready to say goodbye and never would've been.
