William Stepchinski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home - Allen on Feb. 5, 2026.
William Andrew Stepchinski, known to most as "Step" or "Andy", passed away on January 18, 2026. Step was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, and proud grandfather who was deeply loved by those closest to him.

Step shared 21 years of marriage with his wife, Tammy Stepchinski, whom he affectionately called "Louise." He loved going to Bossier City, Louisiana, and enjoyed traveling, cruising, and seeing the world with Tammy. Step was known for spoiling the people he cared about and took pride in knowing exactly what someone would enjoy.

Step retired after a career in law enforcement. He later worked as an insurance agent with Mutual of Omaha and spent time as a football, basketball, and baseball referee. He was dependable, protective, and strongly family-oriented, including the years he spent caring for his parents as they aged. At home, he enjoyed quiet time with his dogs and loved spending time with his grandchildren, who cared for him dearly.

Step also had a sense of humor that never needed to be loud to be felt. He could be gruff, blunt, and wasn't one for a big circle-if you were "his people," you knew it. Some might say Step wasn't always the easiest to read… but if he gave you a hard time, there's a good chance that meant he liked you.

Step is preceded in death by his parents, Zona and Bill Stepchinski; his sisters, Monica Stepchinski and Vicki Scott; and his son, Andy Stepchinski.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Stepchinski; his sister, Rebecca Thomas; his son, Justin Stepchinski, and daughter-in-law, Loren Stepchinski; his stepdaughters, Becca De Anda Licona and Meg Aderholt; and his grandchildren: Aiden (Enoch) Herndon, Sydney Skaufel, Addison Hansen, Samantha Stepchinski, Sophia McDaniel, Lila McDaniel, Amelie De Anda Licona, Boston De Anda Licona, and soon to be Logan Andy Stepchinski.

Step will be remembered for his steady presence, his strong personality, and the dedication he showed to the people he considered his own.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/william-andrew-stepchinski.
