William (Bill) Dale Stewart of White Bluff TN born in Greencastle, IN on 1-26-1948 departed this earth 1-5-2025. Son of William Ransom Stewart and Ellen "Louise" Babbs Stewart of Paragon IN whom both preceded him in death.
Bill graduated from Martinsville High School in 1966 and went straight into the Navy in June of 1966. He proudly served on the USS Bonhomme Richard as a pay clerk and a gunners mate. He then volunteered for shore duty and was stationed at Cam Rahn Bay, Vietnam from 1967-1968. He was honerably discharged in February 1970.
He dated Deborah "Debbie" Byrum for 5 years until he made her his bride in February 1971. Together they build a life with 3 kids, Willie, Amanda, and Crystal. He worked many jobs before settling as an over the road truck driver for Consolidated Freightways in Indianapolis in 1974. In 1984, he was transferred to middle TN where he landed in Charlotte, TN. There, he gained 1 bonus kid, Richard Zolot. He retired from Consolidated Freightways in 2001.
In his retirement, he enjoyed spoiling grandkids and great grandkids. He also enjoyed traveling, dates with his wife, and going to the casino.
In 2004, he returned to central Indiana to care for elder family members. In 2010, He returned to White Bluff TN to spend time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren until the time of his passing.
Visitation: will begin on Wednesday, January 08, 2025 from 4 – 8 PM and will continue on Thursday, January 09, 2025 from 11:00 AM – until time of service at Spann Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: will begin at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 09, 2025 from the Chapel of Spann Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Tinsley officiating.
Interment: will follow at Jackson Chapel Cemetery in Charlotte, TN
