Mr. William Stokes, age 80 of Jacksboro passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. He was born in Macon, GA and his family relocated to New York City. He resided in the Bronx, and was a graduate of Dewitt Clinton High School. William was a former employee of LaFollette Medical Center. He was a very good man, and was very well liked. William loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He is preceded in death by Mother, Hattie Stokes.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Jackson; Children, Denise Stokes, Dawn Reeves and husband, Dr. Richard Reeves, and Kim Dickson and husband, Charles Dickson; grandchildren, Sade King, Daniell Reeves, Michelle Reeves, Sariah Latchman, Sydney Dickson Washington, and husband Rayshawn Washington, and Jayden Dickson; great-grandchildren, Jaden King and Princeton King; sister, Gwendolyn “Cookie” Jackson and husband, Douglas Jackson, Sr.; brothers-in-law and sisters in law, Manny Haynes and Barbara Haynes, and Annie Sutton, and Walter Sutton. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 12:00 – 1:00 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Funeral Services beginning at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Zach Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. William Stokes.
