William Robert Strickland

William Robert Strickland, 93, of Goldsboro, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, at Brookdale Country Day. He was born February 3, 1932 to the late Ervin Edward Strickland and Margaret Coats Strickland in Wayne County. Along with his parents Mr. Strickland was also preceded in death by his wife Doreen Tidd Strickland, sons; Lee John Strickland, Roy Bernard, daughter; Sherry Coley and granddaughter; Emily Worley.

Bill, as he was fondly called by his wife of 62 years, was a retired member of the United States Air Force. He spent most of his time in the Air Force in England where he met his wife. He was also in South Africa in his early years in the service. He loved golf, building things and collecting things like drones, model size metal classic cars, golf balls, and old coins. He loved his family very much. He will be missed.

The family will receive friends 2:00pm – 4:00pm Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremations in Princeton, NC. The Graveside Service will be held Monday, 11:00am September 22, 2025 at the Wayne Memorial Park in Goldsboro, NC with Reverend Matt Cornett officiating.

Mr. Strickland is survived by daughters; Emma Scoggins (Simon), Lynn Worley (Wayne), and a son; Pete Strickland, grandchildren; Jessica George (Tim), Jamie Scoggins, Jeremy Scoggins, Joey Worley, Erin Hambrick, Hannah Laster, Kristin Austin, and Royce Strickland, great-grandchildren, Ava, Conner, Grayson, and Rylan.
