William Dale "Bill" Suchanek, 59, of Tama, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024 at his home due to a sudden illness. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Warren Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
William was born on May 7, 1965, in Iowa City, Iowa. He was the son of Paul Andy and Edna June (Hardon) Suchanek.
He graduated from STC High School in 1983.
On September 29, 1990, he was united in marriage to Trudy Stier in Toledo, Iowa. Bill was a Road Grader Operator for Tama County for over twenty-six years. In his younger years, he participated in Demolition Derby and Tractor pulling, using his Uncle Edward's Farmall Tractor. Bill was known for cutting wood, scrapping iron and helping anyone in need. He was a workaholic and farmed together with his dad for several years. Bill's greatest joy was spending time with his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-four years, Trudy of Tama; two sons, Jacob (Micaela) Suchanek of Tama, and Justin Suchanek of Tama; four grandchildren, Mayley, Madelyn and Jayse Suchanek, and Tristan Starits; his father, Paul Andy (Verona) Suchanek of Tama; and his stepfather-in-law, Al Flowers of Toledo.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna June Suchanek; son, Joseph Starits; brother, Andy E. "Jr." Suchanek; and mother-in-law, Carolyn Flowers.
