Dear Kitty,
Isn’t it amazing?!! I kept thinking of you often, and thought I’d GOOGLE you (since I’m not on FACEBOOK)!
I was saddened to find your late husband’s obituary. My condolences to you and your family.
We met at the former Bay Ridge High School, TAT, and quickly became friends. I left in June of ‘88, and haven’t seen you since.
While this is probably not the most opportune place to have a personal
conversation, it certainly is the only way I’m able to say “hello” to you. I hope that
you are well, safe, and surrounded by much love.
My regards, as well, to Moira. I have fond memories of so many respectful, responsible, and kind coworkers at Telecommunication! Would love to see you all
one day, God willing.
Kitty, once again, my deepest condolences for the loss of your very special husband and friend, ( whose obituary painted the most vivid picture of a family man who followed the path of our Lord ).
Sincerely,
Maria Tafuri

God Bless you, Bill Sullivan! You have been a wonderful friend, superb IBMer, and a great example of what every man should be, a great Catholic, Husband, Father and family man. You will be missed by so many of us but never forgotten. We both enjoyed talking about our Yankees together.

My uncle was an extraordinary man. He served his country, built an impressive career at IBM, and raised an amazing family. He loved and protected my Aunt Kitty until his last breath. And he was loved by so many, including my parents who he was always there for. He loved the arts and brought me to my first broadway play. We may have had different political views :) , but we could safely talk endlessly about television and movies. And lastly he was an artist with words, most notably was his heartfelt eulogy of my grandmother, Agnes.
Fortunately for all of us his legacy will live on in his family who have all inherited his loving qualities.
Rest in Peace Bill - you lived a great life.

Where do I start? A different book but always the same ending . It's the middle that effects us and sometimes it has a lasting effect. Kitty and Bill. Bill and Kitty. It sounds normal only if the two are together. St. Mike's and then St John's followed by US Navy. Bill's claim to fame was when he deciphered a coded message that a US submarine had traveled under the polar ice cap , a first for any nation. Kitty, by the way, had as much time at sea in a sub as had Bill. It was a short trip on an atomic sub to let the wives see what a sub looked like. Going back to their teen years I remember Kitty dragging me to see a baseball game at the Shore Road baseball fields. Just as we are sitting down a red headed guy hits a shot to deep center field way over the outfielder's head for a homerun. As he rounded third he glanced quickly to see if Kit had been watching. I don' recall talking to Bill after the game so that might have been about the time they split up. A few days later Kitty had a date with someone and she told me "Don't tell Bill anything" I met Bill a few days later in Coney Island and said all I know is her date had a thin mustache and pointed shoes . A few days later they were back together. What can I say about Bill? Honorable, loyal, honest and a true believer. A friend, His last words to me "Love ya" My reply, "Love ya Bro" Thanks for the memories.

Bill was one of the kindest men I have ever met. He and his wife Kitty were truly a blessed couple and I always came away with a smile on my face after meeting the two of them in the neighborhood or at Mass. Bill was an amazing man and a wonderful Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady Of Angels Parish. Occasionally Bill would call to ask me to fill in for him as a Minister when he had a family function to attend to but otherwise Bill was an ever faithful Eucharistic Minister. When we had a funeral Mass for a Parishioner, Bill would often go up on the altar to attend to the priest as an altar server. May Bill be in Heaven smiling down upon Kitty, who he adored and upon his children and grand and great grandchildren who were the pride of his life. Bill may you be with Our Lord and resting in His loving arms. We love you and you will be greatly missed by many and by me. You were a wonderful inspiration to me. With deepest sympathy.

Known by so many and loved by so many more....I have been a part of this family since I was 2 years old, Karen was my first friend. Living on 72 st was amazing, Bill always showed an interest in how things were going in your day to day life. He was always willing to help. I can still see him walking down the street on his way home from work with a briefcase in hand, always stopping to ask how you were. Active in so many things at OLA, Xaverian and Bay Ridge in general. Dedicated to his family, supporting them on so many levels, the glue of the family for sure!!!
Bill, may you rest in Peace and be the guardian angel, we all need!!! Thanks for the memories!! Love, Elizabeth Lang♥♥♥

Thank you for sharing your love, wisdom and generous advice throughout my life. You will continue to be a bright light in our family and it was an honor and privilege to know you and call you my Uncle. We were fortunate to live so close growing up in Bay Ridge and the memories of many family celebrations together are what I will cherish the most. Your laughter and smile could fill a room! Thank you for truly caring about all of us, especially my parents who already miss your friendship and seeing you every day. Thank you for your guidance and career advice and for showing me by example, how live a life with integrity, love and devotion to God. Our family song Sweet Caroline will now take on a special meaning and I know you will be watching over all of us as we continue on our journeys. Rest peacefully knowing you left this world a much better place and how much we love and miss you already.

One of the greatest blessings in my life was having you for my uncle! Thank you for always being sincerely interested in my life. For showing me what true kindness was. Thank you for letting me live with you all of those summers at Gravelly so that I could pay for college. For all of the Sweet Caroline dances. The laughs. The good advice. And most importantly, for always singing On My Own with me!!!! I love you Uncle Bill and will miss you terribly. You were simply the best!!
