William Donald Sutton

William Donald Sutton age 93 passed away peacefully surround by his loving and devoted family on December 7, 2025. Donald was born in Crabapple on February 18, 1932 to Walter and Mattie DeVore Sutton. He went to Miton High School until he joined the Navy during the Korean War. He served his country proudly in the Navy and by the grace of God never had to see combat. After he returned from his time in the Navy, He and Wynelle were married and blessed with two children. He was a devoted to husband to her for over 50 years until her passing in 2010. Donald was a lifelong member of Providence Baptist Church and has served as head deacon since 1975. He loved watching the Braves, gospel singings, mowing his grass but above all he loved his family. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Sutton and Mattie DeVore Sutton; wife, Wynelle Lee Sutton. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Grady and Donna Cochran and Greg and Lisa Sutton; grandchildren, Brett and Tori Cochran, Lindsay and Matthew Johnson, Kyle Sutton and Madalyn and Kevin Wofford; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Nell Lee; brother, Rev. Bud and Marion Sutton along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 2PM at Providence Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Hospice.
