William Hasty Swink

William Hasty Swink, of Union Mills, North Carolina, passed away on November 27th. Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late John and Ellen Swink of North Carolina and Tampa, Florida.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Valley Forge where he was a Corpsman on the ship's medical unit. Following his military service, he built a long and successful career with Carlsberg Management Corporation of Los Angeles, California, where he served as District Manager across the United States. After many years of dedicated work, he retired and later made his home in Lakeland, Florida.

Bill is lovingly remembered by Joan Franks; his children William (Billy) Swink Jr., Katina Swink Locke, and Chad (Tracy) Franks; his sister Beverly Leddon; his grandchildren Stephanie (Kyle) Jennings, Brett (Misty) Franks, Emily (Christian) Nevins, Maeghan Franks, and Dalton Locke.

Bill was proceeded in death by two sisters; Ellen Louise Kovacs and Sandra Yvonne Liddy.

Bill had a lifelong love for the mountains, and ten years ago he returned to the Carolinas to be near the Blue Ridge views he treasured most. Family and friends will gather in the Blue Ridge Mountains on Sunday, December 7th, for a memorial service in the place he loved best.
