William R. Tanzola, 82, of Lehigh Township, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025 in his home, surrounded by his family. He and his wife, Janice M. (Stemetzki) Tanzola, shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Robert and Mary (Collura) Tanzola. Bill was a graduate of Nesquehoning High School and Bethlehem Business School. He also received an Associate’s degree from Northampton County Community College. Bill served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked in the Human Resources Department at Bethlehem Steel for 30 years until its closure. In retirement, Bill enjoyed helping customers in the Electrical Department at The Home Depot.
Bill was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Walnutport. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 899 in Walnutport. Bill was a Ham Radio Operator for many years. He loved sailing, chasing lighthouses and walking the trails at Mauch Chunk Lake.
Survivors: His loving wife, Janice; son, William R. Tanzola, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Macungie; daughter, Nancy L. Tanzola of North Wales; 1 grandson, Jackson Tanzola; sister, Sister Rosanne Tanzola of Newark, DE.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2025 in St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 1152 Oak Road, Walnutport. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held from 9 AM until the time of the service in the church. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harding Funeral Home, Inc. of Slatington.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, may be made to St. Nicholas Catholic Church or to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
