It is written, when life begins, that it is like an open book with many blank pages. Each day as we live, our deeds are recorded page by page until we close our eyes in death and await that great day. The Homegoing Celebration Service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1 pm at St. Matthew Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.
The pages of this book begin December 11, 1936, when Brother William Joe Taylor was born to Sam Taylor and Mary Robertson in Bryan, Texas.
He attended school in Wheelock, Texas. He met and later married his long companion, Louise Taylor, on April 26, 1955, in Franklin Texas. They moved to Shallowater Tx where he worked as a dedicated farmer for most of his life. 1998, he went to work at AAA Fire Extinguisher until 2024 as his health declined.
Brother William J. Taylor was a very joyous man, very caring. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, wife (Louise); 2 daughters (Betty Ann and Tonya Taylor); 1 son (William J. Taylor, Jr.); 1 sister (Nancy Monroe), 5 brothers (William, Leonard, Rubin, Arthur, Eugene Taylor).
The final chapter of this book for William Joe Taylor was written on February 26, 2026 with his daughter, Shameeka Taylor; son, Randall Taylor; and grandson, Carlos Sabvino right be his side.
