William "Bill" Technik, age 86, passed away Friday October 24, 2025.
Bill was born January 14, 1939 to Victor and Adella Vana Technik of Shiner, Texas.
Raised in Shiner, he went to Country school then Saint Ludmila. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Hawaii, before dedicating 34 years with GVEC as a lineman and service lineman. Upon retirement, he returned to what he loved most-working full time on the family farm. Bill loved being outdoors, especially fishing and setting trotlines along the river. Some of his happiest moments were teaching his grandson the joy of fishing-sharing patience, laughter and a love for nature that will live on through him. He married the love of his life Jeanette Kutach on June 3, 1961.
Survived by his adoring wife of 64 years, Jeanette Kutach Technik and daughters Pam Parker (Darren), Peggy Technik, Polly Wyckoff (Todd), Patti Kasper (Kenny). Grandchildren Leah Camarillo (Jesse), Ryan Parker (Kourtney), Dusti Wyckoff, Cory Wyckoff, Brett Barta and Braden Barta. Great grandchildren Hailey Camarillo, Mason Camarillo, Easton Camarillo, Tyler Parker and Tegan Parker.
Preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Georgie Technik. Sister, Vernita Blume and brother-in-law, Clarence Blume. He was a member of Saint James Catholic church, a former Eucharistic minister, Knights of Columbus, 4th degree Knight and Czech Heritage Society.
Visitation will be held 9 a.m. Friday, October 31 at St. James Catholic Church with the Rosary being recited at 9:30. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with Reverend Jason Martini officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers include Darren Parker, Todd Wyckoff, Kenny Kasper, Ryan Parker, Brett Barta, Braden Barta and Cory Wyckoff.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to Heart to Heart Hospice and The Heights of Gonzales for their care over the years, with a special thanks to Paula and Tasha. They also extend a special thanks to family friend Melissa for all of the loving support and guidance she provided.
