Chesterfield, SC - Mr. William "Terry" Thompson, age 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC, surrounded by his beloved family.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 21, 2025 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Randy Bishop with burial to follow in the Chesterfield Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born on July 11, 1947, in Hartsville, SC, he was the son of the late Bill Thompson and Cornelia Thompson Moore. Terry was a 1965 graduate of Hartsville High School and went on to earn an associate degree in business from Columbia Commercial College. He was a retired employee of Crown Cork & Seal with over 30 years of service. Terry was a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church and enjoyed time spent fishing and golfing. Most importantly, he adored being "Pa Pa" to his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Caulder Thompson; his daughter, Allison Leigh Thompson; an infant sister, Linda Thompson; his sister, Judy Thompson Easterling and her husband, Jimmy; and sisters-in-law, Peggy Caulder Harding and Penny Caulder Dixon.
He is survived by his children, Ashley Thompson (Phillip) Lowe of Florence, SC, and her mother, Jeannie Beschere of Florence, SC; and Shannon Thompson (Josh) Sawyer of Seneca, SC. He leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Abby Reeves, Ross Reeves, and Jack Sawyer, as well as brothers-in-law Rev. Howard Harding of Laurinburg, NC, Phillip (Yetive) Caulder, Jr., and Cotton Dixon, both of Chesterfield, SC, sister-in-law Sissy Caulder (Harold) Adams, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of McLeod Hospice House for the compassionate care and support provided during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McLeod Hospice House, c/o the McLeod Health Foundation, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502.
