Brenda was born on September 22, 1955, in Cheraw, SC, to Christine Eve Threadgill McPherson and the late Charles Hurt McPherson. She graduated from Cheraw High School and dedicated more than 20 years of service to Cheraw High School before her retirement. She will be remembered for her servant’s heart and her passion for cooking, as she loved preparing meals for her family and loved ones. Among her cherished hobbies were fishing and playing cards, but her greatest joy came from being called "Gi-Gi" and "Granny" by her grandchildren.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 39 years, George McLaurin; her sons, Lee (Meredith) Wallace of Chesterfield, SC, and Bubba (Nickie) Wallace of Patrick, SC; and her beloved grandchildren, Dawson Wallace, Rylan Wallace, and Cody Mac Wallace. She is also survived by her mother, Christine Threadgill McPherson of Cheraw, SC; her sister, Tammie (Pastor Darrell) Hatchell of Granite Falls, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved furbaby, Bella and her granddogs, Lulu, Tuck, Colbie Jane, and Lottie.
