Jackie “Jack” Driggers, 75, died on Friday, October 24, 2025. Born in Cheraw, SC, he was a son to the late Nettie Maude and Jack Driggers. He lost his father at a young age and was raised by Al Weaver alongside his mother.
Jack graduated from Cheraw High School where he played football and baseball. After high school, Jack joined the United States Marine Corps, earning Honor Man during boot camp. He was a part of the Combined Action Platoon (CAP) from July 1970 to May 1971 and was a Vietnam Veteran. He later joined the US Navy where he served the United States for 20 years. He later retired again from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety after 21 years. He was an avid Clemson fan, and Jack briefly attended Clemson University and University of South Carolina, later graduating from Maryland University as the first college graduate from his family. He was a fan of Clemson football, and the world would stop when a game was on TV. Jack was an avid golfer and worked part-time at Cheraw State Park Golf Course in his later years.
Jack was saved by Jesus Christ in September 1981 at Bethel Baptist Church in Rota, Spain. He later attended Calvary Baptist Church in Cheraw with his wife Linda. Jack loved his family, his sons were the joy of his life, and he was grateful that they found good women. His grandkids were his source of joy and happiness. He loved to play with his dogs, his love for animals was a passion that he never outgrew, his dog Bo was loved tremendously. He was also a faithful friend of Bill W. for 45 years and he would help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Driggers, sons, Joshua (Ashley) Driggers of Bennettsville, SC and Matthew (Betina) Driggers of Norfolk, VA, his father, Al (Gloria Davis) Weaver of Chesterfield, SC, a brother, Michael “Bootie” Driggers of Cheraw, SC and grandchildren, Kailey, Jacob, Abigail, and Scarlett.
He was preceded in death by his parents listed above, and his sister, Betty Sue Driggers.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church, Cheraw, SC.
