William Charles Thomas of Freeport, IL, passed away at the early age of 66 on November 20, 2025 after an extended illness.
Charles was born on September 10, 1959 in Jackson MS, the son of AC and Lennie Mae Thomas.
From a young age Charles was a hard worker. Charles worked on a farm for many years in Flora, MS prior to relocating to Freeport IL. After relocating to Freeport Charles worked at various factories in the surrounding areas.
Charles relocated to Freeport, IL in 1998 where he met his loving wife Vera Euell. The two of them dedicated themselves to one another on October 20, 2001.
Charles loved to hang out with his family and friends in his free time. He loved to play spades and dominos. Charles had a true passion for raising dogs and loved watching the westerns. He loved to grill out whenever he could and his favorite of all, hang out with his partners in crime Za'Niah and Ja' Zari.
Charles was proceeded in death by his mother and father, AC and Lennie Mae Thomas, his son Michael Bryant, his sister Bertha Mae Aken, his brothers LC, JW, Eddie C and JB Thomas.
Charles is survived by his wife Vera (Euell) Thomas, his children, Angela Swanagan, Laquita (Bennie) Carson, Chavon Bush, Tamerrion Swanagan, Sedric Euell, Anthony Euell and Ceneca Euell, his sisters Verger (Robert Lee) Gray, Helen Aldridge, Diane ( Parker) Cooper, his brothers Melvin (Adlean) Thomas and Oscar Thomas, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 920 S Carroll Ave, Freeport, IL 61032. A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be at Freeport City Cemetery.
