William Thompson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ponders Funeral Home Melrose Chapel - Dalton on Aug. 26, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Mr. William Henry Thompson II, a beloved member of our community from Dalton, Georgia. William, who was only 53 years old, passed away on August 19, 2025. He was the cherished son of the late William Thompson Sr. and Barbra Ellis Thompson.

William leaves behind his loving sisters, Billie Jo Calderon of Soddy Daisy, TN, and Jenny Tardie of Chatsworth, GA, as well as his brother, Joshua Springfield of Blairsville, GA. He will also be missed dearly by his nieces, Shayla Bergeman of Soddy Daisy, TN and Ayla Thompson of Tunnel Hill, Ga as well as his nephew Jonathan Bergeman of Oxford, AL.

The Family had decided that a personal gathering for his memorial will be private event which will only include the close friends and family members.

In the midst of our sorrow, we can find peace in the thought that William's spirit has joined the embrace of the Promised Land, as spoken of in Scripture. His memory will forever shine in our hearts, like a radiant constellation in the night sky. We will cherish the special moments we shared with him, holding those memories close as we honor his legacy.

Someone who's taken the clothes off his back to clothe another in need.

Someone who loved playing the radio in the background while working on things that needed to be fixed. Someone who loved his family and friends and would do anything to protect them.

Though he may no longer be physically with us, the love he shared reminds us of the profound connections that endure, transcending time and space. William's impact on our lives will never be forgotten, and he will always hold a special place in our hearts.
