Ron Todd, a dedicated educator and esteemed coach, passed away on August 22, 2025, while doing what he loved most: engaging with the world of sports. He was a fixture in the Washington community, where he made a profound impact on countless students and athletes throughout his career.

A graduate of Canon Mac High School and a proud alumnus of Grand Canyon University, where he obtained two Master's degrees, Ron’s commitment to education was unparalleled. He began his teaching journey at Washington Middle School, where he inspired young minds as a teacher. His passion for athletics saw him take on multiple roles, including Head Coach of the Washington Middle School Football Team and the Assistant Varsity Coach for both the Washington High School Football and Baseball teams and head Coach of the Washington High School Bocce Team. His notable achievements included leading the Washington High School Varsity Football Team to a PA State Championship in 2001 and a WPIAL Championship in 2017, milestones that underscored his exceptional coaching abilities.

He shared his love for all sports and embodied the spirit of hard work, kindness, and inspiration. Known for his exceptional teaching skills, he was described as amazing and motivational by those who had the privilege of learning from him. Even beyond the realm of academics and athletics, he found joy working as a cook at the Wild Things Stadium, filling each role he held with enthusiasm and passion. He was a teacher and Counselor at Southwood Behavioral Health mentoring and educating the kids.

An avid sports enthusiast, Ron looked forward to participating in the Claysville American Legion Golf Trip in Canton, Ohio, which became a cherished tradition for him. He began his coaching career at the age of 18, a testament to his lifelong dedication to mentoring the youth.
