William David Townsend

William David Townsend, 70, of Zachariah, husband of Carla Lynn Townsend, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Kentucky River Medical Center, Jackson. He was born December 7, 1955 in Campton, Kentucky to the late George William and Sarah Vivian Wilburn Townsend. David began working as an oil field worker and later became a truck driver, hauling coal, cattle, chemicals, and oil. His handle name was, "Chopperman". David was an avid hunter, enjoyed watching Nascar, and riding his harley. Survivors include wife of 43 years, Carla Townsend; son, Terance Devin Townsend; and sister, Jeanna Lee Townsend. Services Sunday, March 15, 2:00pm by Bro. James Harold Combs, Wells Funeral Home, Stanton. Visitation Saturday 5-8pm at the funeral home. Burial in Stonegate Cemetery with Devin Townsend, Tommy Napier, Phillip Lane, Tommy Ray Napier, Jimmy Cable, and Phillip T. Lane serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers serving, Ronnie Easter, Darrell Rogers, Ronnie Price, Vonnie Mays, Donald Brandenburg, Louis "Tiny" Lawson, Jimmy Sparks, Charles Green Wilburn, and the staff at Wolfe County Health and Rehab.
