William Perry Vickers, 77, of Lepanto, Arkansas departed this life on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on August 8, 1948 in Dyess, Arkansas to Forrest Colon Vickers, Sr., and Florence (Pet) Dixon Vickers.
Perry proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years, stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. He continued his military service in the Navy Reserve in Millington, Tennessee, for twenty years, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to serving others and protecting his nation. In addition to military service, Perry dedicated his life to public safety and community service. He served his community as firefighter for the Lepanto Fire Department, and he retired after two decades of service, and he retired from G & L Supply Company in Memphis, Tennessee. Outside of his professional life, he found great joy in working with wood. He enjoyed building planters and birdhouses, and anything he could think of to build. Above all, he deeply loved his family and loved every moment spent with them. He will be remembered for his kindness and servant’s heart, as well as his deep love for the Lord, family, and community.
He is preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law: Guy Spears, brother-in-law: Otis Dale Mason, and Katherine Mason.
Perry is survived by his wife: Linda Diane Vickers of the home, son: Jacob Bradley Vickers (Whitney) of Marion, Arkansas, niece: Denise McGhee (Eric) of Lepanto, Arkansas and loving mother-in-law: Eunice Spears.
A graveside service will be held at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
Brother Gary Finley will officiate the service.
Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home, Lepanto.
