You knew you were going to have a great day if you working with Dr. Walker! As a CRNA, I worked with him mostly in the Suite and West Bloomfield. He was a great anesthesiologist and a wonderful person overall. He was synonymous with the Mrs. Walker cheesecake! Dr. Walker always made sure to ask how my son and husband were doing. He loved talking about my husband´s classic car. When I was first diagnosed with hypertension, we were working together in the Suite. I was wearing an ice pack on my forehead by the end of the day. He insisted on taking my blood pressure after I dropped off my last patient of the day. My blood pressure was so high that he determined I was having a hypertensive crisis. Dr. Walker made sure to treat my blood pressure and get it down before sending me to the E.R. He was afraid that it would take a while before the E.R. doctor could see me and didn´t want me to possibly have a stroke. I had a 2 year old son at the time. He was a selfless man. I am forever grateful for him. Rest in peace my friend.

I LOVED working with Dr. Walker! I am so saddened to hear of his passing. His wife made the most INCREDIBLE cheese cake ever! I asked for her to make one for me for my birthday. He brought it in and I was told by staff that others were eating it. So I went tonthe lunchroom to grab some to take home with me. People were like you know that this was a joke. He had ANOTHER one in the fridge....oh his humor. He was a great MDA...prayers for him and his family...

Dr. Walker was a great doctor, respected by everyone and treated everyone like a friend. He was a character and would play jokes on his fellow coworkers. We always knew we would have a great day when he was assigned to our room! Dr. Walker will surely be missed by all that know him! I know he really loved his family! We all loved the famous Walker cheesecake! Thank you Mrs. Walker!

Dr. Walker was an excellent MDA!! He took his job seriously, but also had a a funny side- this took some time knowing him to see it He cared about all of us in the Suite- brought us the "famous Walker cheesecakes" (thank you Mrs. Walker) as evidence that he loved us!
We loved him just as much, and will miss him terribly! Rest In Peace, Dr. Walker

Few will hold Bill Walker in higher regards than I do.

My son, Mark, would spend time shooting at the local gun range with Bill, and that could only happen because he saved my wife Suzanne´s life - a few years before Mark was even born.

I had worked with Bill for many years, as he was one of the Lead Anesthesiologists in charge Oakwood Hospital´s ICU. He was both revered (and feared) by his Anesthesia Residents. I appreciated his education as one of the instructors the first time I became ACLS Certified to work as a pharmacist in that fast-paced environment. He was good at, and he liked the role of teacher. I was grateful he was the Anesthesiologist available when Suzanne was in crisis at the time of or first-born daughter´s birth. Prior to Bill´s arrival, we weren´t´ seeing a good path unfold until he provided a more experienced solution.

Decades later, both Bill and I had moved through dozens of roles in and outside of Oakwood. We were re-acquainted at my soon-to-be Daughter-in-Law´s 21st birthday (Caroline Galli, who we were about to learn is Bill Walker´s Niece). Suzanne and I were invited to her family´s home to celebrate the big occasion. On approach to their house, I noted a familiar face from years earlier. During the celebration, I re introduced Suzanne to Bill as the DR who saved her life during Nicole´s birth. The family overheard my exuberance and all in the family now know of my reverence for Bill.

In your passing, you and your family are certainly aware that I will always have a special place in my heart for your memory.

Rest in Peace, Bill Walker.

Karl and Suzanne Widak - now celebrating 42 years of marriage.
