William Walker Obituary
William Joseph Walker, 91, passed away on Thursday June 5, 2025.
William (Bill) was born in Bushnell, Illinois on July 6, 1933. He served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. William married his teenage sweetheart, Frances, on June 6, 1953.
Bill had always been a car enthusiast. In his teens he worked in a gas station where he began performing mechanical repairs. He began drag racing but then moved on to Porsche racing. He was a longtime member of the Porsche Club of America and a founding member of the Carrera Region. He was known for his mechanical expertise and driving prowess.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife Frances Walker and daughter Barbara Walker. Survived by his brother Randy Politte (Candie). His daughters Patricia Adams and Janet Walker. Grandchildren: Jennifer Eldridge (Aaron Eldridge), Kelly Scharmack (Rodney Scharmack), Will Gardea and JC Gardea. Great grandchildren: Quinn Eldridge, Connor Eldridge, Kai Scharmack and Koa Scharmack.
Funeral service 1:00PM Friday June 27, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast 4631 Hondo Pass Dr. Burial service 2:30PM Friday June 27, 2025 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with military honors.
