William "Bill" R. Weier, 65, of Edgewood, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 16, 2025.

Born on December 11, 1959, in Olean, New York, Bill lived a life defined by integrity, laughter, and love. He was someone who never met a stranger and made everyone feel valued. His kindness and easy humor were constants in the lives of those lucky enough to know him.

Bill dedicated over four decades of his professional life to supporting and leading others. He spent 41 years with Cincinnati Milacron before joining Mazak Corporation, where he proudly served as Human Resources Director for the past five years. His work was more than a career-it was a reflection of who he was. Bill was a true people person, always willing to listen, offer advice, or share a story to lift someone's spirits. His service to people earned him many accolades including humanitarian and workforce innovation awards leading Mazak to being "NKY's Best Place to Work". His warmth and compassion touched everyone he worked with.

A 1977 graduate of Newport High School, Bill was a standout athlete who excelled in nearly every sport, earning the memorable newspaper headlines including, "When there's a Weier, there's a way." He carried that determination and optimism into every aspect of life. He continued his education at Eastern Kentucky University, where he met the love of his life, Terri. From that moment on, the two shared an unbreakable bond built on humor, faith, friendship, and devotion. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family.

Bill was happiest when surrounded by those he loved most. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and an adoring grandfather-affectionately known as "Papa Billy" to his grandchildren, Jackson "JJ" and Alexandra "Lexi." Being their Papa was one of the greatest joys of his life. He loved to spoil them endlessly, whether it was sneaking them treats, taking them on adventures, or simply showering them with love and laughter. His eyes lit up whenever he talked about them.

He loved sports, boating, fishing, and being outdoors, finding peace and joy in the simple things. Bill had a natural gift for connecting with people-he could walk into any room and immediately make everyone feel welcome. Even in the most remote places, Bill would seemingly always see someone he knew and offered them a kind handshake and a smile. His caring heart, wisdom, and unmistakable laugh left a lasting impression wherever he went.

Bill also served on the Board of Directors for both the NKY Chamber of Commerce and the Brighton Center for many years and volunteered his time as a hospice volunteer, bringing comfort and compassion to those in their most vulnerable moments. His ability to offer peace and kindness when it mattered most was a true reflection of his faith and generous spirit.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Dodd; brother, Rusty Weier; father-in-law, James Schulte; sister-in-law, Barb Stevens; and nephew, Joey Schulte.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years, Terri (Schulte) Weier; his beloved daughter, Meghan (Will) Roe; his adored grandchildren, Jackson "JJ" and Alexandra "Lexi"; his mother, Bobbie Dodd; sister, Terrie (Johnny) Mathews; mother-in-law, Anne Schulte; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who loved him deeply.

A visitation to celebrate Bill's life will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, Kentucky, with family arriving at 2:00 PM for private time. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Pius X Church in Edgewood, Kentucky, with burial immediately following at St. John's Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky.

Bill will be remembered for his laughter, kindness, and the way he made everyone feel like family. His legacy of love, generosity, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Memorial donations in Bill's name may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization that reflects his lifelong spirit of service and compassion.

My Nephew went to school with Billy and Billy even lived with his buddy their senior year in school. They both played on the football team together for 3 years and I saw every game for those 3 years with memories of Bill going high in the end zone to haul down touchdown passes. Great athelete!
