Lolita Marlys Weier

Lolita Weier, age 87, of Linn Grove, Iowa, died October 21, 2025 at Accura Healthcare in Aurelia, Iowa.
Funeral services will take place Friday, October 24, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Riverside Evangelical Free Church in Linn Grove, Iowa. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the CHURCH. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Sioux Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.
On November 16, 1937, Lolita was welcomed into the world weighing one pound and fifteen ounces by her parents, Aron and Ruth (Doyle) Johnson in rural Linn Grove. She was baptized at home by Reverend K.G. Hatlen on November 22, 1937 at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids. She moved with her parents to Havelock where she started school. Then she moved to Marathon, Iowa. Lolita was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Marathon on June 1, 1952 to Pastor B.T. Erhol. She moved to Lakefield, Minnesota when she was a junior in high school and graduated from Sioux Valley High School at Sioux Valley, Minnesota in 1956.
She married Robert "Bob" L. Weier on August 2, 1956 at Bethany Lutheran Church at Lakefield. She lived in Linn Grove all of her married life except for two years when they lived in Sutherland. Bob and Lolita had four sons: Jeffery, Lynn, Kevin, and Brian.
Lolita was a member of Riverside Church in Linn Grove, The Red Hat Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She worked as a cook at Sioux Valley and Sioux Central Schools for 23 and a half years. She also worked at the library for over 20 years. In her free time, Lolita enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, knitting, and sewing. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lolita is survived by her sons: Jeff (Robbin) Weier; Lynn (Lorna) Weier; Kevin (Teresa) Weier; Brian Weier; sister: Karen Erbes; grandchildren: Travis (Candace) Weier; Nick (Kelsie) Weier; Matt (Nic) Weier; Lacey (Wes) Pueggel; Landon (Jessica) Weier; Eric (Ashley) Weier; Zach (Rebecca) Weier; Thomas (Anne) Moore; Krystal Moore; John (Sammy) Perrigo; great grandchildren: Winston and Paisley Pueggel; Easton Weier; Owen Weier; Quinlin Weier; Allison Weier; Lane and Banks Weier; Mercedes, Chase, Thomas Jr., and Braden Moore; Lyric and Tre Moore; siblings-in-law: Marlin (Laura) Weier; Mary (John) Smith; Keith Weier; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Aron and Ruth (Doyle) Johnson; husband: Robert Weier; parents-in-law: Lloy and Jenny (Kruse) Weier; brothers: Lowell Johnson; siblings-in-law: Allan (Gale) Weier; Bill (Barb) Weier; Dean (Delores) Weier; Wayne Weier; Thelma Weier, Charlie Weier; Cheryl (Pete) Coyle; Carol (Rich) Konrady; and Denny Erbes.
