William "Tex" Wells, 68, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Tex was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a 10 year member of the Army Band. He celebrated 25 years of sobriety on May 15 and was an active member of Alcoholic's Anonymous.
He was born on January 15, 1956 in El Paso, Texas to the late John Wells and Margaret (Hoffman) Hays.
Tex is survived by his siblings, Shaun Muth, Jennifer Nall, Beverly Rinker, Charles (Tammy) Hays, Kevin Hays, and Matthew Hays; his partner, Ellen Kelley; nieces & nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and many cousins.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, at the funeral home with cremation to follow. Tex will be laid to rest at New Albany National Cemetery at a later date.
