William Whatley Obituary

Published by Legacy on May 7, 2022.
What joy and celebration there must be in heaven because Will is home! William Thomas Whatley (Will) of Austin, Texas unexpectedly left us much too soon on May 6, 2022, at the age of 52. He was born on April 5, 1970, in Houston, Texas, where he grew up. The family moved to Austin, Texas in 1984, where Will would later graduate from Lake Travis High School.
Will proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked in the Pacific as a helicopter specialist on one of the largest ships in the world: the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. Using his VA benefits, he completed his degree in Computer Information Systems at Texas State University. He then went on to work for Spartan Globe Consulting LLC.
Will was a great friend to many. He was actively involved in Special Olympics, Mobile Loaves & Fishes, CrossFit and running marathons with his best friend his canine buddy, Joey. He also loved playing softball with his many good friends at Krieg Softball Complex.
He is preceded in death by his younger brother Joseph Wayne Whatley.
Will is survived by his loving American bulldog, Joey. Joey was fondly named after Will's younger brother who passed in 2013. Will is also survived by his parents William Carl and Karen Whatley, sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Doug Compton, nephew Cameron Compton, niece Rebekah Compton, and grandmother Carole Orr Hamblet.
The family would like to thank Lupita Hernandez, Aisha & Kamilah for their endless love and friendship they shared with Will over the past years.
