William H. White

1933 - 2022

White, William H. CLIFTON PARK William H. White, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31, 2022, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. He was born on November 21, 1933, in Albany, to James and Elizabeth White, who predeceased him. Upon graduation from Albany High School he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1953 until 1955. He was honorably discharged as a pipefitter third class. After the Navy, he went to work for Tougher Heating & Plumbing as an apprentice. He later became a foreman and then a superintendent. In the 1970s Tougher Heating and Plumbing was acquired by Tougher Industries where Bill became vice president until his retirement in 1999. He was married in Middlebury, Vt. in 1961 to Elinor M. Morin. He is survived by his wife; his sister, Elizabeth A. Wensley of Glenmont; and a nephew of Colonie. Bill was a member of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Albany. He was a member of Mount Vernon F. & A.M. Lodge #3 and Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 7 of Albany. After he retired in 1999, he spent time with his beloved dog, Amber. He did wood crafting, gardening and spent summers with his wife in Wells, Vt. at Lake St. Catherine. He will be cremated and laid to rest in Linden Grove of Albany Rural Cemetery.
