William Raymond "Billy" White

William "Billy" Raymond White, 81, of Hillsboro, TN, passed from this life October 28, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Hillsboro, TN, in Coffee County, the son of the late Raymond and Willie Jean Creek White.
Mr. White graduated from Coffee County Central High School in 1962. He studied Medical Laboratory Sciences at Middle Tennessee State University and Shorter College in Rome, Georgia earning his license as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. He dedicated his life to the medical profession as a teacher and mentor for laboratory technology, medical laboratory technologist, Laboratory and Radiology Director for HCA/Columbia in Rome, Georgia at Redmond Regional Medical Center for more than twenty years before his retirement. After retiring, he moved to his childhood home of Hillsboro where he continued to serve Manchester Medical Center/Unity as an interim laboratory manager before becoming a part-time laboratory technologist at Rapha Center at the time of his death.
During retirement, he enjoyed spending time driving cross country and cruising to Alaska and trips to Arkansas with his beloved cousin, Diane Prater, to watch the races with family. He was an avid University of Tennessee Football fan and never missed a Walking Horse Celebration. Mr. White made sure he took the time to call and go see his grandchildren. He ensured he was at graduations, listening to one broadcast ball games, even if he didn't like the sport, or that he was at the other's concerts to see him on stage. Mr. White was their "biggest promoter and fan."
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mrs. Sarah Ann White, a brother, Larry Wayne White, and a beloved sister-in-law, Brenda Woods Hayes.
Mr. White is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dana (Lance) Davis, of Hillsboro, TN; two grandsons, Mr. Will Davis, of Orlando, FL, and Mr. Ben Davis, of Tuscaloosa, AL; and a brother, Mr. Jimmy White (Amy), of Manchester, TN.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with services beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Shawn Davis, of Franklin, TN officiating. Mr. Will Davis will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow immediately at the Hillsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Billy White Laboratory Sciences Fund at Coffee County Bank. This is a scholarship fund for medical laboratory students.
