William White

William Linn "Billy" White, 65, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born January 9, 1961 in Akron, Ohio to William Lynn White and the late Velma Lee (Kalgren) White. Billy first married Cindy (McIntyre) and she preceded him in death in 2001. He later married Laura Beth (Tedeschi) and she preceded him in death in 2018.

In addition to his father, Billy is survived by his children, Staci Johnson and significant other, Dustin Clifton, Lauren Whiting, John Whiting and wife, Summer, Deanna Whiting and wife, Nicole, and Lance White and significant other, Ananda Syler; grandchildren, Jaxson, Harrison, Emily, and AJ; surrogate grandchildren, Gavin, Taylor, and Madi; and siblings, Colleen White and Wes White.

In addition to his mother and wives, Billy was preceded in death by his grandson, C.J.

Billy worked at Continental Tire for several years. In the last few years, he enjoyed spending time at Chapman's Muffler Shop. In his early years, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and teaching his children to work on vehicles. He could spend hours in his dad's barn creating anything you could imagine.

A Visitation will be held Friday, February 27, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.
