William Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jessen Funeral Home & Simple Cremation - Whiteland on Mar. 14, 2026.
It's with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Bill H. Williams. Bill was born the eldest child of Bill and Connie Williams on November 27, 1955, in Indianapolis. Being a true Southsider, and an eternal Notre Dame fan, Bill began playing CYO football in the fourth grade at St. Catherine school on south Shelby Street with daily practices in Garfield Park. He stayed committed to playing football all through grade school, High school (Greenwood), and college (University of Indianapolis).

Bill was both an outstanding athlete and a scholar, serving as the president of the senior class of 1974 while also being awarded the Rick Machledt mental attitude award for football. Bill was also a two-time state finalist in track during his junior and Senior years at Greenwood High School. He set the school record for both the mile and half mile run.

Bill also made his mark on Indy's westside. He had a successful selling career with Farm Bureau Insurance that spanned over 30 years. He was recognized year after for exceeding the expectations of his position and received multiple "Agent of the Year" awards. Along the way, Bill nurtured many long-term friendships that he maintained throughout his life. While residing on the westside, he enjoyed spending time with his brother Scott and sister-in-law Kim.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Connie Williams, and his sister-in-law, Kim Williams.

He is survived by his siblings of Dan (Vicki) Williams, Scott Willilams, Shawn (Paul) Leighton, and Lora (Todd) Casbon. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces who will miss the reciting of his many poems at annual Christmas gatherings.

Bill will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
