William B. Williamson Jr.

Willie Williamson, Jr passed away peacefully on 12/8/2025 surrounded by his partner and children, after battling with heart issues and Parkinson's disease.
He was born on September 28, 1942 in North Carolina to parents Carol and William Williamson. As a child he enjoyed scouts, playing the trumpet, football and track. His father was in the air force so Willie lived in many different locations growing up, including Germany. He graduated from Florida State University with a dual degree in math and psychology while leading his local Air Force ROTC unit. After completing school, he worked for NASA. He was a programmer for the Apollo missions and worked with the astronauts to collect data. He then moved to Control Data where he headed divisions and excelled in research and development and quality control. He retired working for Net Star, heading the research and development department there. He then enjoyed a rich and active retirement.
Willie is survived by two sisters (Barbara and Lynne), five children (Jason, Daye, Tyler, Summer and Corey), nine grandchildren (Matteo, Tommaso, Bruce, Gideon, Colten, Marlin, Shilo, Mia and Killian), his partner Becky, and numerous friends. Willie was an incredible father and grandfather. He always made time to attend all his children's and grandchildren's activities such as sporting events, scouts, and recitals.
Willie was an avid swing dancer and met Becky while dancing. They continued dancing across the country. He also loved rock climbing, his workouts at Lifetime Fitness and spending time with his grandchildren, his children and Becky. He taught rock climbing to Wayzata High School students. He volunteered for the local police and fire departments. He had a long, full adventurous life and touched many others along the way. He was a kind, generous, strong man and will be greatly missed.
