Thomasville – William Edgar Woods, 92, formerly of High Point, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Piedmont Crossing.

William was born on May 3, 1933, in Bay City Michigan to the late Edgar M Woods (father) and Virginia McDonall Woods (mother). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Ross Woods.

William was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Occupied Germany as an Aerial Reconnaissance Still Photography Specialist. He was honored to have served his country.

Shortly after his discharge from the Air Force, he returned to Michigan and married Nancy Ross in 1957. They soon moved to High Point NC, where he established himself as a commercial photographer, working for many with the furniture industry.

Bill and Nancy loved the outdoors, enjoying hiking, camping, boating and fishing.

Bill was also a very skilled marksman, earning numerous awards in local, regional and national NRA competitions.

William is survived by companion, Joan Musgrave; brother-in-law, David Brian Ross (Alisa) of Whitehall, MI, and other close friends.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1:45 – 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Cumby Family Funeral Service at 206 Trindale Road in Archdale. A private inurnment will follow the service.
