William Zwirko Obituary

Bill was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War having served Stateside from 1951 to 1953. He was an active member of Kings Court in Lyndhurst where he enjoyed exercising and made many friends. Before an injury cut his career short, Bill had been a semi-pro baseball player in the minor leagues and even had the opportunity to play with the great Hall of Famer, Willie Mays, during that time.
Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy (nee Cherasia) in 2008; his parents, Thomas and Justina Zwirko; and his sister, Olga Krawiec.
Survivors include: Survivors include: his in-laws June Nicosia of Clifton, Joan and Rich Koterba of Missouri and Orrie Cherasia, Jr of Florida. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Stella and Harry Van Winkle, Debra and Chuck Schwiederek of Clifton and several great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday 9:00 am at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 712 Grove Street, Upper Montclair, NJ. Arrangements are by Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton, NJ.
