Willie Frank Allen, age 95, of Columbus Ohio 43206 passed on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at New Albany Care Center. He was born on September 8, 1929, in Carroll County, GA. Willie Frank was educated in the Carroll County schools.
Willie Frank was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Magnolia Holliday Allen; his father, Eugene Allen; his brother, Elveria Allen; his sisters Hattie Mae Endsley, and Bytha Jones; his wife, Bernadette Allen who passed in 1996; and his grandson, Deshawn Roberts.
Willie Frank is survived by his wife, Carlene Allen, and sister, Mollie Bell Daniel. He leaves behind his loving and devoted children, Wesley (Cindy) Roberts, Brian (Katrina) Allen, Eugene (Barbara) Allen, and Carolyn (Joseph) Blair. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Monika (Kevin) Johnson, Chenelle (Brooks) Fields, Brandon Allen, Marqus (Wendy) Allen, Ashlei Allen, Vanessa Hockenhull, and Victoria Hockenhull. Great Grandchildren include Jaylen Allen, Chloe Hockenhull, Tessa Carter, Cash Hafeez-Bey, Deshawn Roberts Jr., and Deandre Roberts. Great, great grandchildren include: Twilan Allen and Tre Roberts.
Willie Frank Allen attended Mount Avery Baptist Church in Whitesburg, Georgia. He grew up working on the family farm in Carroll County along with his sibling. His childhood nickname was "Rooster" related to his talkative assertive personality. He often reminisced about how he enjoyed combing and braiding his mother's long beautiful hair. When he and his brother, Elveria, became teens, the two were inseparable.
At 20 years old, Frank moved from Carrollton, Georgia to Columbus, Ohio. He arrived by train on July 4, 1950 and spend a few years living with his beloved cousins, Barbara and the late James Allen.
While living in Ohio, Frank married the late and beautiful Bernadette Allen, on July 12, 1958. The couple remained married for 32 years until her passing in July 1996. God blessed their union with four devoted children.
Frank was a very hard worker and successful entrepreneur. Shortly after moving to Columbus, he began working at AS Shanks Auto Rebuilding for 2 years. Also, he worked at Lockbourne Air Force Base as a civilian employee. He retired from the City of Columbus Division of Water after completing 30 years of service. Frank owned and operated Allen and Son's Refuse with successful operations from 1970-1991.
Frank was an active member and committed Christian at Bethany Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio. He was a faithful usher and actively transported the members by driving the church van. He also loved to ride bikes for exercise.
The late Aunt Emma Payne, a beloved member of Bethany Baptist Church, introduced Willie Frank to the beautiful Carlene Miller (both Willie Frank and Carlene were devoted members of the church). On March 13, 1999, Willie Frank married Carlene Miller. From that moment on, his stepdaughters lovingly referred to him as "PaPa."
Frank loved his sister, Mollie Bell Daniel, very much, who knew him best. Ofen, Frank expressed wanting to take care of her and protect her. Frank enjoyed many conversations on the phone about their childhood which brought him lots of laughter and joy.
During recent years, Frank cherished his friendship with special loving cousins, Barbara Allen and the late cousin Mable King. He also cherished his friendships with the late Morris Harris, a devoted friend. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of WILLIE, please visit our Tree Store.
