In Loving Memory Of
Willie E. Booth, Jr., age 95, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at his home. He was born on October 26, 1928, to William and Dora Mae Booth. Willie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later had a successful career at Exxon, retiring at the age of 55. A passionate HAM operator, he was a lifelong member of the HAM Radio community. Willie was an intelligent man, and remarkably, he taught himself to speak Spanish by watching Spanish-language television. Known for his meticulous nature, he documented all his phone calls, even those from telemarketers.
Willie is survived by his daughter, Sandra June Luper, along with her husband, Jerry, of Greenwood, Arkansas. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Jeremy and Monica Ibison, Stephanie and Tommy Freeman, all of Greenwood, Arkansas; Sheri and Dewayne Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Patrick Luper of Ratcliff, Arkansas; Ronnie Lawson of Houston, Texas; Bill and Debra Lawson of Alma, Arkansas; Marc and Kerry Lawson of Springdale, Arkansas; and Ryan and Alisa Lawson of Alma, Arkansas. Willie was blessed with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mona (Stachowiak) Booth; his daughter, Linda Diane Lawson; his parents, William and Dora Mae Booth; and his grandson, Brian Lawson. Willie lived a long and fulfilling life and will be deeply missed by many. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Hartford Cemetery in Hartford, Arkansas.
