Willie Campbell Jr., born on September 13, 1953, in the quaint town of Lake Providence, Louisiana, gracefully departed this world on June 10, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. His journey through life was marked by the warmth of kindness, unwavering dedication, and an extraordinary love for those he held dear.
A gentle soul, Willie was the embodiment of hard work and compassion. He found great joy in providing for his family, a source of pride and accomplishment that defined his very being. This devotion manifested in small yet profound acts, one of which was the daily ritual of calling his beloved mother at precisely 2 PM and 7 PM, a testament to the deep affection that permeated his existence.
To know Willie was to appreciate his immense kindness and willingness to go above and beyond for anyone in need. He was a figure of support, a helping hand in times of trouble, and a pillar of strength for many, creating bonds that transcended the superficial and delved into deep-rooted friendships and familial love.
His hobbies and interests painted a vivid picture of a man who found solace in nature and shared excitement in the spirit of competition. Whether it was casting a line while fishing, chasing the thrill of the hunt, or cheering for his favorite teams—the Dallas Mavericks in basketball and the Washington Commanders in football—Willie engaged with life with a heart full of passion and loyalty.
Willie is survived by his devoted wife, Viola Campbell, and their cherished daughter, Shalonda Ensign (Kirk). He also leaves behind his brothers, Rev. George Duncan (Betty), Dewayne Campbell (Robbin), and Keldric Campbell (Cassandra), along with a loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom will carry his memory in their hearts.
In the weeks to come, family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Willie Campbell Jr. A viewing will take place on June 20, 2025, from 12 PM to 7 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. Subsequently, a funeral service will be held on June 21, 2025, commencing at 1 PM, also at Golden Gate Funeral Home.
Willie Campbell Jr. will forever remain a cherished presence in the lives of all who had the privilege to know him. His spirit, a testament to the love and dedication he embodied, will forever echo in the hearts of his family and friends.
