Willie Mae Dalcourt was born May 5, 1949, in Jackson, Mississippi. She was the daughter of the late Willie B. Flowers (Smith) and the late Bill Roy. She was fortunate to have the late Willie Lee Smith in her life since she was three years old as a caring and loving stepfather. She was raised in Jackson, Mississippi; moved from Mississippi to Houston, TX.
She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Houston, TX in 1967. She was a faithful and devoted Baptist. After years of being in Texas, Willie decided to take a different path. She traveled through Louisiana and found her new home in St. Martinville. This new place also brought love to Willie. In 1996 she met her soulmate, Carlin James, better known as Stormy.
Willie Mae enjoyed spending time with lifelong partner (Stormy). He loved and cared for her during the good and difficult parts of her journey. He stood by her side and continued to keep that beautiful smile on her face. Everything was “Stormy Stormy” when he was around. They enjoyed life together for 25 years. They traveled together and made happy memories.
She loved to read romance novels, watching basketball games and old western movies. Working crossword puzzles was her specialty. She would sit for hours scrambling her puzzle books. Most of all, she loved going to the casino. Her favorite color was red. She always wore her some red lipstick and red nail polish and her gold jewelry. She was ...WILLIE MAE!! Her favorite phrase " They don't know me I'm Willie Mae".
She is survived by her spouse of 25 years, Carlin "Stormy" James; son, Donald Jackson; daughters, Roshanda Jackson, Angela Jackson (Keith), and Rachel Jackson-Lewis(John); step-daughter, Jackie Sique; grandchildren, Latasha Jackson, Joshua Laws, DiJon Lewis, Keauntee' Lewis, Deandre Lewis, and Keashay Lewis; and host of great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by spouse, Lawrence Dalcourt; parents, Willie Lee and Willie B. Smith; and step-mother, Mary Pointer.
She will be truly missed; we love you MOMMA always and forever. We will meet again.
