Willie James Harmon, Jr., a resident of
Pocomoke City, Maryland, transitioned at his home at the age of sixty-nine (69) on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 6:06 a.m. Born on August 3, 1956, in Atlantic, Virginia, he was the son of the late Helen and Willie James Harmon, Sr.
Willie received his education at Atlantic High School in Atlantic, Virginia. Fondly known as Charlie, he was recognized in the community for his exceptional talent and dedication to home renovation. He turned his passion and skills into a successful business. Always acknowledged for his sharp mind and natural ability to solve any problems, he could fix anything, whether it was a home, vehicle, or his precious boat. His passion was validated by the pride in redesigning and restoring homes with exceptional skill and care.
Charlie had a unique relationship with each of his siblings, and he always ensured that they were taken care of. He often utilized his creative skills to repair their homes, bringing warmth and love to every project he completed. Peace and relaxation for Charlie were working on this boat, and the time he spent on the water, fishing with family and friends, especially his best friend, Wayne Collins. They worked together daily as well as spending weekends fishing and attending community events. Charlie had a devoted fiancée, Becky Pritchett, who was by his side until his transition, offering comfort, strength, and love that never wavered. He also had a special bond with her children and grandchildren. Charlie had a uniquely special relationship with his nephew, Antoine Bagwell, Sr., as well as his son, Ahki Bagwell. They often had breakfast together at his favorite restaurant. It goes without saying that Charlie loved his family deeply.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Cora Scales and her mother, Judy King as well as his grandchildren, Veronica Harriston, Nykshia Smith and Dillan Caesar and great-grandchildren, Kaiza Caesar and Zora Harriston, all of North Carolina. He leaves behind his siblings: Grace Wasielewski (Rick) of Leslie, Georgia, Rodney Harmon of District Heights, Maryland, Palulette Parker of Felton, Delaware, Wennette Pitts of Chestertown, Maryland and Sharon Jones (Jovan) of Queenstown, Maryland and his step-siblings, Irene Tull, Faye Fuller, Linda Tull, and Deborah Monroe. His memory will be beholden by 15 nieces, 12 nephews, 21 great-nieces, and 23 great-nephews and other family and friends, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Charlie was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph "Plunky" Harmon and Sherwood Tull, a sister, Betty Wilson and Frank Tull, his stepbrother, Wayne Tull, who also transition on October 16, 2025, and his step father George Tull.
Charlie will be remembered for his kind heart, laughter, and generosity. The joy he brought to the lives of others will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though he has departed from this life, the memories he created will continue to shine brightly through all who were blessed to share in his journey. Through the grace of GOD, may the spirit of Charlie (Willie James Harmon, Jr.) be at peace and his heart reunited with his beloved mother, HELEN, whom he loved and adored in heaven's everlasting light.
