It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Willie Floyd Ross, a beloved son of Millry, who left us peacefully on November 14, 2025, at the age of 81. Willie was born on December 15, 1943, and lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure in the great outdoors.
Floyd was a simple Southern man who spent countless hours hunting, fishing, and exploring the beautiful landscapes around him. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to his work as a logger in the timber industry, a job he took pride in for many years. Family meant everything to him, especially his cherished grandson, Jonathan, who brought him immense joy.
Known for his playful spirit, Floyd had a knack for joking and picking on his family and close friends, spreading laughter wherever he went. He could light up a room with his infectious smile and heartwarming laughter, leaving behind countless fond memories for everyone who knew him.
Floyd is survived by his daughter, Karen Ross Wheeler; grandson, Jonathan Wheeler; brother, Frank "Boog" Ross; step-children, Linda Dumas Tucker, Bobby Jordan, Debra Holyfield, Barbara Lee, James "BoBo" Jordan, and Charlotte Jordan; 10 step-grandchildren as well as many other relatives and dear friends. We know he will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to be part of his life.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Bigbee, and everyone is invited to come share stories, laugh, and celebrate Willie's wonderful life.
Rest easy, Floyd. You've left your mark on our hearts, and we will carry your spirit with us always.
