Willie Mae Carter Smith, a loving mother and wife was born on August 17, 1946 in New Roads, Louisiana. She departed her dear life on October 27, 2023. She was affectionately known as "Mae". She enjoyed shopping, cooking and going to the casino. She was extremely compassionate, strong willed and loved life.
She leaves to cherish her memories; her loving husband of 56 years, Henry Smith, one daughter, Stephanie Smith (Shawn Clark); one grandson, Quardrell Clark (Kaisai Kemp) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; great grandchildren, Damyria Clark and Quardrell Clark, Jr, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; six siblings, Dora Lee Brooks (Raymond Brooks) of New Orleans, Louisiana, Valerie Davis (Derrick Davis) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Joyce Houck (Timothy Houck) of South Carolina, Barbara Comber (Oliver Comber) of New Orleans, Louisiana, Michael Carter (Farrah Maiden) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Norman Carter of St. Mary Georgia; one aunt, Cora Mae Brue; a very special niece Jerrineisha Smith; two close friends, Mable and Tammy, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Willia Mae is preceded in death by her parents; Mr. Samuel Carter, Sr. and Mrs. Deola Carter; three siblings, Katherine, Geraldine and Samuel, Jr.
