Willis Green Obituary

WILLIS LEE GREEN Willis "Willie" Lee Green, 88, of El Dorado, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on November 11, 2025. Willie was born on March 30, 1937, in Lambert, Oklahoma, the son of Hyler and Bessie (Rather) Green. He attended Helena High School in Helena, Oklahoma. On May 20, 1972, Willie was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Noland at Prospect Baptist Church in El Dorado. He worked for many years as an operator in the Decoking Unit at Holly Frontier Refinery, formerly Skelly Refinery, where he retired after 36.5 years of service. Willie had a lifelong love of the outdoors. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, camping, and hunting, as well as traveling and gardening. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends, who will remember him for his kind heart, steady presence, and wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Beverly; daughter, Cindy Mays; sons, Ronnie Green, Alan (Linda) Peterson, Leland Green, and Mike Peterson; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Terry Green, and twelve brothers and sisters. A celebration of Willie's life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Carlson Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Walnut Valley Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Willie's memory may be directed to the El Dorado First Christian Church or Compassion Within Hospice.
