Bill and I both grew up on George Street Mount Prospect. We were friends in grade school but kind of hung in different circles in high school. Everyone in the neighborhood new "Gopher" and he had a very characteristic chattering laugh - no idea if that had anything to do with his getting his nickname? A couple of my early memories were at Bill's house upstairs where they had a game room and I believe a pool table. Bill had an older brother and of course the older kids were into "cool" things and Bill played for me on their record player his brother's record WILD THING by The Trogs. It was the first time I had ever heard it and it made a huge impression on me - I still love and listen to the early days of that music and The British Invasion! That must have been 1966 or 1967? My father worked for Hammond Organ company and we had an early electronic organ at home and I was taking lessons. Bill had apparently taken piano lessons? I learned the G7 chord from Bill at that time and can play it to this day! I would have enjoyed engaging and dialoguing with Bill had we managed to bump into each other - alas. Greg Bull

I had known Bill from High School, get togethers on weekends and played softball with him for many years, and fished with him in Minocqua Wi, a few times, good quiet person
