William DeSeve Obituary
HANNACROIX - William Jude DeSeve joined his beloved wife and son in Heaven on October 26, 2025. On the days leading up to and of his passing, he was surrounded by loved ones from near and far. William was born on July 7, 1948 to William G. and Lillian M. DeSeve (n�e Carroll) in the hamlet of West Albany, N.Y. He graduated from Colonie Central HS in 1966, part of which included study abroad in Paris, France, which he always remembered fondly. He graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh. Soon after, he married his true love, and they went on to have four children, one of whom struggled with complications of spina bifida. Despite these hardships, they carried through and raised a loving family. For most of his career, William was a foreign language teacher and he enjoyed fostering the love of languages in his students. He also served in the Naval Reserve for fourteen years, where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant. He will be missed greatly by all who loved him.
Services will be held on Friday, October 31, at Newcomer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hour will be from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., followed by a brief Christian service. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Selkirk. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Community Hospice https://www.communityhospice.org/donate

So sorry for your loss.I grew up with Bill in West Albany I remember one time when he was just getting into these rockets, he set it off went up and came back down with a chute on it.It was fun in those days going to miss you Bill may god bless you and your family. Bo Lanza

We were very sorry to hear about your father. It was a pleasure to spend time with your family throughout the years. Our son Jeffrey and your sweet brother Billy were best of friends. Your parents and us had several wonderful dates as we waited with our sons during their proms. Our hearts go out to all of you. We are sorry that we cannot attend your father´s service. Will and I go way back to kindergarten at West Albany Elementary school. Also to St Francis DeSales Catholic Church. We kept in touch over the years, and were best of friends. I will truly miss "Bill" as I called him. We were pretty close in a lot of ways. I wish I could come up to the services but my wife is wheelchair bound at the moment and I cannot leave her. But our prayers and thoughts are with the family Denise, Philip, and Andrew during this time of grief. I was especially glad he had joined the Naval reserve he really enjoyed his time in the service of our country. I thought I would post this photo, of Bill and myself, both of us were paper boys for the Times Union and Knickerbocker News at the same time.
One thing I am glad about, is that I spent about 3 hours with him at his home in September while we were in the Albany area, I will ever be so grateful for that time. May God Bless you William Jude DeSeve, I will never forget you, I will pray for you everyday my good friend.

Rest peacefully my brother, I will miss you but I'm comforted knowing your suffering is over. You faced the challenges life handed you head on Billy, you fought the good fight!
