Willus Lambers Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home on Aug. 11, 2024.
Willus Lambers, age 90, went to heaven on Saturday, August 10, 2024. He is now with Jesus and his wife, Shirley.
Will was a faithful and loving husband to his wife, Shirley. When she started showing signs of Alzheimer's, he took care of her at home as long as he could. When she went into assisted living, he visited her daily, sometimes multiple times a day. He always made sure that he was there to put her to bed in the evening.
He always said when it came to repairs, "There is nothing that I can't fix". It was true and he used those skills in helping others over his lifetime. He was happy to grab his toolbox and help a neighbor, church member or one of his children.
He was a kind, generous, and friendly man. He always tried to bring a smile to someone's face. He deeply loved his family. As a Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather he always supported his family. There were many activities that his family were involved in over the decades. He would attend as many as he could possibly fit into his schedule. He was there cheering and supporting at the side of a court, track, ball field, soccer field or cross-country trail. He was always ready for an adventure and loved a good road trip. He could be found playing cards with loved ones or connecting with a friend over a cup of coffee.
He was a man of strong faith. His favorite book in the Bible was the book of Romans. He cherished the promise that was given to him from God of His grace and mercy. He longed for eternal life in heaven.
Will was a member of Faith Christian Reformed Church where he served as Elder, Deacon and Cadet Counselor. He was also instrumental in establishing their TV Ministry.
Will worked for the Holland Board of Public works for 34 years. He retired as Superintendent of the Water Treatment Plant. He was also a veteran of the US Navy and a member of the American Legion.
Will was preceded in death by his three siblings, Harold Lambers, Celia Plasman, and Murvel Lambers.
