Wilma Laverne Baker-Gardner, 88, of St. Joseph passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Caretel Inns St. Joseph.
A funeral service will be held 11 AM on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at The Anchor Church of God, 5020 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville, MI 49127 with Pastor Marc Danapilis officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 5-7 PM at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman, MI 49106. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be given to The Anchor Church of God. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.
Wilma was born on January 19, 1937 in Truman, Arkansas the daughter of the late Hershel and Ellen (Simpson) West. On July 21, 1951 she married Giles Baker, Jr. and he preceded her in death on August 26, 2008. In 2010 she married William Gardner, Jr. and he preceded her in death on March 28, 2017.
She was not only the heart of our family, but a woman who walked with God every single day. Her kindness, strength, and faith touched everyone who knew her, and her legacy of love will live on in us forever. We will miss her smile and her prayers, but we take comfort in knowing she is now resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord.
Survivors include five children: Mike (Amy) Baker, Jim (Linda) Baker, Charlene (Rick) Langston, David (Candy) Baker, and Dale (Debra) Baker; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a brother, Sherman (Elimina) West; and three sisters: Jeanie Huff, Clara West, and Bernice West.
Wilma was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Sisson.
Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman.
