Wilma, married her beloved husband, John Wesley Conner, a longtime Glenrock resident on June 6, 1956 at the Community Baptist Church in Glenrock. Their first home was in Moose, Wyoming where they lived for two years. During this time her knowledge and love of the majestic Grand Tetons became a great comfort to her. In 1958 they moved back to Glenrock, where John was employed by Pacific Power and Light Company. She held employment with Kansas Nebraska Natural Gas Company, Deputy Clerk for the Town of Glenrock for four years until 1973 when they were transferred to Rock Springs, Wyoming with the Power Company and resided there for six years, until 1979. On March 7, 1979 a transfer came for Wilma and John to move back to Glenrock for his employment with PacifiCorp. She continued working in the insurance industry, until her retirement.
She was dedicated to her family and friends; loved life; giving all to helping others in any way she could. She enjoyed most of all the love of outdoors and all of the beauty of nature that God provided. She was very active in the Glenrock Bowling Association for many years and one of her most memorable days was when she was asked to help with the State Special Olympics Bowling held in Casper. She was very accomplished in photography. She used her experience and knowledge for graphic design work for John's Navy reunions. While attending a reunion in San Antonio, Texas she was awarded a Certificate and Plaque of Appreciation for Outstanding and Dedicated Service to the crew of the USS Henderson DD-785 of which her husband, John, proudly served his Country during the Korean War.
The family she loved survives her. Her husband, John Conner, of Glenrock; daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Conner, of Dowagiac, Michigan; grandson, Morgan Donald Piland Sr., of Seattle, Washington; great grandson, Morgan Donald Piland Jr., of Seattle; and many other relatives.
